David Cedar is the co-founder of Williams Cedar and prior founding member of the Cedar Law Firm, Merovitz & Cedar, L.L.P. and Merovitz, Cedar and Gruber., L.L.C. He is a graduate of Rutgers State University, School of Law, Camden (1992). He is admitted to practice in the bars of Pennsylvania (1993) and New Jersey (1992), along with various district courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. David Cedar was appointed by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney (2001) a honor awarded to less than 1% of all attorneys in the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Cedar’s primary focus involves catastrophic personal injury claims and complex tort litigation including civil class action claims in the field of consumer law, truth in lending violations, predatory financing, toxic tort and environmental law, professional malpractice, constitutional law, and products liability in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania
Mr. Cedar has successfully brought hundreds of claims to Trial and has prosecuted cases all the way through the Supreme Court under the consumer fraud acts in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania against Major Insurance Companies, Fortune 500 banks, title companies, mortgage brokers and bankers, real estate appraisers and builders, as well as car dealerships, home improvement contractors and other participants in deceptive and fraudulent acts and practices.
Recently, Mr. Cedar was co-lead counsel in the Barwood Estates matter out of York, Pennsylvania. This consumer fraud claim involved allegations of violation of the Pennsylvania Consumer Fraud Act and Federal RICO law against some Fortune 500 banks, and title companies, as well as other mortgage brokers, bankers and appraisers. This case involved a multi-million dollar settlement on behalf of many home owners.
