Marc E. Lipton earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan., graduating with high distinction. from the University of Michigan. He went to Harvard Law School where he received his Juris Doctor and graduated Cum Laude.

Marc is the longest-serving current member of Lipton Law. He was admitted to the Michigan State Bar in 1990 and joined his father’s firm the same year. He began serving as a managing partner as well as handling complex litigation.

Marc focuses his practice on complex catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. He has been the lead counsel on many cases resulting in multi-million-dollar settlements and verdicts. This focus gives Marc significant experience in litigating the major sub-specialties of personal injury litigation. This includes automobile negligence, medical malpractice, construction accidents, product liability, premises liability, highway defects, and other negligence actions.

He has practiced in many states, including California, Massachusetts, Ohio, Iowa, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Marc has garnered considerable respect and an incredible reputation among his peers. His skill and hard work have not gone unnoticed, as he was among the youngest awarded an AV rating by his peers and is a recognized “Michigan Super Lawyer.”

Outside the courtroom, Marc lectures on many subjects, including Michigan’s Auto and Medical Malpractice Law, and Trial Advocacy and Litigation Techniques.

Marc is married to Ellen Cogen Lipton, a former Michigan State Representative. They have two children, both of whom Marc “can still out-ski … but not for long.”
